Portfolio types

We offer a range of eight portfolios which are grouped into three themes: Capital GrowthFuture Focused and Natural Income

Capital Growth

This first group of portfolios are built around our in-house risk management tools in the search for a positive total return over the longer term. The portfolios have a preference for active funds, but they will use passive alternatives where suitable.

Cautious

Designed for the lower risk investor, this portfolio invests in a mix of fixed interest and equity to generate a return balanced between the two types of asset.

Balanced

Whilst remaining largely centred on the UK this portfolio includes elements of developed and emerging market equity with a view to producing a higher level of return.

Growth

Investing into a range of geographic regions and asset classes this portfolio has a focus on higher risk assets making it suitable for investors willing to take on more risk for higher potential gain.

Adventurous

Investing primarily in a basket of international equities, this portfolio is suitable for clients seeking returns similar to global equity markets.

Future Focused

These portfolios are built around the same foundations as those in the Capital Growth range with an additional objective to invest into funds with a focus on strong social, environmental or governance principles.

Future Focused Cautious

This portfolio is suitable for the lower risk investors who are keen to invest ethically. This portfolio invests in a mix of fixed interest and equity to generate a return balanced between the two types of asset.

Future Focused Balanced

This portfolio has an overriding ethical bias and suitable funds are identified by applying a filter to identify those that meet our strict ethical criteria. The portfolio uses a balanced investment approach, including elements of developed and emerging market equity with a view to producing a higher level of return.

Future Focused Growth

This portfolio is suitable for those clients who are willing to accept higher short-term volatility in exchange for the potential of greater returns over the longer term. The portfolio invests into a broad range of geographic regions and asset classes to tap into the most profitable areas of the global economy.

Natural Income

The portfolios in this range have been built for investors who are seeking a regular income based on the yields of the underlying funds.

Defensive Income

A cautiously-minded portfolio designed to produce a steady level of income by investing into government and corporate bonds as well as limited amounts of blue chip equity.

High Income

This portfolio is constructed to produce a higher level of income and growth by investing into corporate bonds as well as UK and international equity income.
